Nowadays the word “influencer” is spread everywhere. In another article we discussed the power of video content. Now we are going  further and  will talk about the people who are creating material and upload it on social media.

At the end of the article, you will discover why it is crucial to make a collaboration with an influencer and which factors you should consider to get in touch with influencers. 

If there are people who still have not heard about what is an influencer, let me give you a short clue about it.

An influencer is each person who has the power to influence or guide other people using different methods. For example, most of the influencers are creating content on Youtube. Due to their material and stories, they influence other people to adopt their lifestyle or mentality.

Influencers can either be active online or offline. But in this article, we are going to focus on the influencers from social media since they are playing a huge role in promoting brands.

Being present online and building a reputation is a huge thing since around 45% of the population was in 2019 active on social media according to the statistics.

SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS ARE NOT ENOUGH

Now that you have quite a clear view about what are influencers and their mission you might wonder how is that related to your business.

As you probably have already seen in my previous articles, using online marketing to promote your business will make a big difference regarding your sales and the way you reach customers.

But using social media might not be enough all the time especially if your company is not that popular in the beginning. You might only reach a few percent of the people who clearly have an interest in your products but you will miss lots of other people.

What if due to collaboration you will start to see that new customers start to follow your services and are even interested in buying your products? That sounds pretty cool, right?

But how can you reach people who don’t have a direct interest in your products or maybe did not even hear about your business so far?

Here comes the role of an influencer who already has its group of followers and they are interested in trying the same products as the influencer.

The most important part is that influencers have the power to build credibility regarding the products they promote and usually the people who are following them tend to try these products as well.

Collaborating with an influencer can bring you a lot of advantages. The best part is that you don’t have to invest a lot of money. Actually, you can become known to more people just by offering the influencers some of your products.

For example, you deliver to the influencer a product and it will promote your business while making a review of it.

In this way the people will see the services you are offering and thanks to the influencer, they might have the curiosity to try them as well.

Buyers will need your product!

When you want to deliver a specific product, you might not have the necessary power to convince other people to buy it. Humans are generally skeptical especially when it comes to trying new things. This is the part when influencers use their methods and start to talk about these products. It is unbelievable how fast people’s minds can change when they hear things from the people they trust. 

Let’s see some useful tips that you can put into practice when collaborating with an influencer. An influencer can promote your product on social media and use hashtags such as #sponsored. This will make the content more appreciated than the typical marketing. 

Also, using “brand ambassadors” can make a good advertisement for the product/service. “Brand ambassadors” are the very first fans of a product and they have a huge influence on the other potential consumers. 

Having an influencer by your side can change your business really fast but be careful who you choose. There have been a lot of cases when the influencers used terms as “miracle product” and they caused more damage than good. Always be honest with your buyers and make a clear agreement with the people you choose to collaborate with!

YOUR BUSINESS FIRST!

Before deciding to start texting all the random influencers you know, you should keep in mind a few things.

Firstly, it is quite important to measure your brand comparing to the influencer you want to choose. Big brands go for famous influencers, so try to be realistic and have a clear vision about your status.

Secondly, it would be better if the influencer you choose is part of your usual customers. Some influencers can agree to make reviews of products they would never consume just because of other advantages, but this might not bring the results you want. 

After all, it is clearly easier to review a product that you consume daily rather than forcing yourself to present a product that you have no idea about or you don’t even like.

Keep in mind that the popularity of an influencer in your case depends on more factors such as relevance, authenticity, reach, and engagement. When you choose one, think about your brand and not about the influencers themselves. If they won’t be compatible with your services, your work and collaboration will be wasted.

The digital world is growing every day and no matter what kind of products do you sell, being present and recognized on social media will definitely bring a positive impact on your business. That means getting in touch with influencers. But don’t forget! Any decision you take, think first about your company’s purpose and who you want to reach!
